Limbaugh and I talk about his unrelenting racism

with 16 comments

The thing is, y’all don’t know the half of it. When you wait on hold to talk to Rush, during the commercial and news breaks, you’re subjected to a series interstitials that can only appeal to racists. Rush, I think, calls them, “entertaining”. He’s got some guy doing impressions of Jesse Jackson, Ron Artest, Al Sharpton and several other African Americans. Each of them are essentially audio minstrel shows that depict blacks as stupid and incompetent hustlers. I guess white racists need to laugh too, but Rush should take responsibility for doing what he does.

Of course, there’s a lot more to Rush’s racism than his rarely heard interstitials. (You hear them on his live webcasts from RushLimbaugh.com as well).

The truth is that race – and being on the wrong side of the issue – is a favorite topic on Rush’s radio show. He’ll talk about the Black Panther voting case for years, but I don’t think I ever heard him mention anything about Republican voter caging or the wholesale disenfranchisement of people with black-sounding names in 2000′s Florida election.

When the economy tanks, he makes up a reason out of whole cloth – it was all the fault of ACORN and the CRA, dontchya kno? Of course, ACORN and the CRA both had two things in common: they both helped vulnerable African American populations, and neither of them had anything at all to do with the criminal banking class that led the country into its current economic collapse.

Rush has long been a hobbyist when it comes to condemning black athletes that screw up. Hell, is some cases (Donovan McNabb), he loves to condemn black athletes simply because they are black. But I’ve never heard him say anything about Josh Hamilton, Mark Chimura, or Ben Roethlensberger (he says he’s made fun of the latter, but he sure hasn’t made any interstitials or done so in any kind of sustained effort).

Anyway, all this, and more, came up in today’s phone call:

  4. The saddest part of the entire discussion is the fact that Rush actually believes his comments are not couched in racism. You can tell your call really got his goat. He resorts to playing the Rove game and turning the tables on you – it’s the Democrats and liberals who are racist. Page 300 in the Republican propaganda playbook. It’s fun witnessing someone with a sharp mind and plenty of talent for debate raise a hyper-conservative media mogul’s blood pressure every once in a while.

  5. He sounds high to me. For the record, you shouldn’t be calling Roethlisberger a rapist as he hasn’t been convicted of rape.

  9. Thank you . Rush is starting to drop and lose many of his bullshit marbles. I’ve been listening to his act since about 1990. He stops his thoughts mid-sentence these days, struggling to not say some things that come a’pill-popping into his head. I wonder if Rush has been watching his low-lights on youtube and Media Matters. He should retire.

  10. Mike–
“He’s a Democrat activist, so he’s paid to…utter those words.” No doubt you were paid a pretty penny for that. Worth it to get him so hot and bothered.
He can lampoon liberals, but not as well as you harpooned him!
    Thanks.

  11. I wonder, are only favorable comments are posted here?

The impersonations of Sharpton, Jackson, et al, are impersonations of individuals, not an entire race. Sadly, the poverty pimps may be stupid, but they are not incompetent. They have been able to extort millions of dollars to fund their activities over the years.

Donovan McNabb, as Rush has explained to his audience, and to you, has been given preferential treatment in the media because he is black. The media wants to have a positive story about a prominent black person because they are concerned that their coverage will be deemed “racist” if they do not. Instead of focusing on his ability as a football player, the emphasis is placed on his race first, and his ability second.

I would like to see the evidence for your claim of disenfrancisement of Florida voters with “black sounding” names. It sonds preposerous to me; perhaps including a link in your post would have been helpful.

“When the economy tanks,” it is the fault of failed policies of the Statist. This is mostly the domain of the Democrats, but there are statist Republicans as well. Whose policies seek to use race to advance their agenda? Who is the first to call someone a racist? Who believes in faction? Who believes the answer to any question, not just any problem, is more government?

From all that I have read, by you and about you, you promote the Statist’s agenda. Are you a bourgeois socialist, or a useful idiot?

  13. I just wanted to say that your phone call with Mr. Dumbaugh was nice to hear. He needs for people like you to keep kicking his butt with calls like these. If I had the nerve, I’d do it myself.

Some additional questions I’d like to hear answers Your phone call with Mr. Dumbaugh was one for us for once. He needs to get calls from people like you, everyday, every hour. I’m not sure how you got through, as I’ve heard he prescreens callers, but you managed it and it’s quite humorous to hear him try to explain himself. If I had the nerve, I’d do it myself.

Some additional questions I’d like to hear answers from Mr. Douche Limpbaugh over general topics surrounding his gas bagginess:

Why did he get fired as a football commentator over racist remarks, if he isn’t racist?

When he says he’s “joking” when he rags relentless racist remarks to his audience who are all pathetic white old men like himself (majority of republicans), he’s lying. His “joke” tirades are anything but funny. Why does he think other people’s miseries are so funny?

How pathetic is our country becoming when this man can make himself a millionaire just by finding a big enough niche in this kind of market to sell lies, misconceptions and just plain bullshit?

BTW, doesn’t he belong to a union himself? Many in his profession are, and I know that even if he isn’t union, he had bargaining rights for the contract he has with Fox. Why is it ok for him to do it and not for anyone else?

Isn’t he, in fact, was and still is, addicted to Oxycontin? How’s that “therapy” or whatever means he used to keep from going to jail, going?

Freedom of Speech is our right as Americans. I believe in that right so strongly, that I have to concede to allowing Mr. Lumpbaugh his right to speak. But every once in a while, you just want to be able to silence, just once, one utterly stupid, obnoxious, nihilistic meat head idiot millionaire on the air or better yet, in a video. I’m entitled to dream…

But as a consequence of that right, we can’t get rid of him that easily. Or anyone else that fits his mold. For now, we can only keep chiseling, digging and gnawing our way through the republican hail storm of bullshit.

And that’s what you did. I hope you continue to do it again and again. People are now starting to realize the horrible mistakes of the last election. We need for republicans to hurt as much as possible over the next 2 yrs, so they won’t be able to pull off another election by cheating in 2012.

Keep it up until the mighty giants fall!
