Rush spends 3 hours lying about unions
He covered everything… said that unionized government make twice as much as their peers in the private sector… that Obama added 200,000 unionized workers to the federal payroll… for 3 hours, the lies kept coming. It was awful.
His strategy is to divide the working class. As long as wage-earners concentrate their fire on each other, the plutocratic kleptocracy churns on without hassle.
I’m beginning to wonder how much longer that gambit is going to work. Is Wisconsin a hiccup or a spark?
Strap in and hold on tight.
The first minute of audio sets my call up. It’s one (of many) example of Rush railing against unionized workers to gin up the envy and hatred.

if unions were busted the price of goods would go way down , chevys for 5000$ again

People who do not have unions should really think about standing up for themselves. It’s easy to sit on your couch and gripe about what other people have. It takes courage and trust in your fellow worker to take a stand. But anyone, anywhere, can do it. Stand up to the thugs! They can’t fire everybody!

@prezo: if there were no unions stuff would cost a lot less… and it would also be nearly impossible to earn a living at a blue-collar job. We’d quickly revert to feudalism and serfdom.

I’m never surprised at the ignorance of Americans about the benefits that Unions brought to ALL WORKERS.
40 hour work week
Overtime pay for more than that
Federal workplace safety regulations
Child Labor restrictions
Healthcare benefits
Paid Vacations
Paid Sick days
and this is just the short list.
Before Union organization in the early part the 20th century working class Americans saw 6 and 7 day work weeks, usually with 12 hour days. There WAS NO overtime pay. There were no safety regulations – you got hurt or killed at work? They sent someone to your house to tell them to come drag your wounded or dead carcass off the production floor. Oh, and the dead? Their bodies went home without any pay for the day they died – because they didn’t finish their shift.
The best part? You got hurt or dead at work, there was NO ONE to sue – because there was no law that said you had the right to sue.
It’s no wonder the ignorant Right continues to malign Unions – they’ve forgotten what the Unions did for THEM and every other worker in this country.

[...] Mike Stark calls into Rush’s show again and tries to get him to understand how unions built up… No such luck. [...]
