“Restoring Honor”?
That’s what Beck and Palin called it.
But they are sure relying on a pretty, ahem, interesting bunch to do it, huh? Funny. At one point in the production, Beck declared that he just knew (he was crying when he said it), he just KNEW… He knew that somewhere in the crowd was this country’s next George Washington.
God help us. There may not have been a neo-George Washington in this crowd, but there were plenty of voters. And every one of their votes counts just as much as yours does.
God help us.

While, on the whole, the interviewees tended to espouse either nonsense or bullshit dreamed up by a conservative political strategist – there were a couple who made actual sense.
The young man, when asked if (paraphrased):
Should people on the Terrorist Watch List be allowed to buy and own firearms, including automatic weapons?
Said (again, paraphrased):
If they haven’t been convicted of a crime that makes it illegal for them to, then, yes they should be allowed to.
The other person was the older gentleman who carefully considered the question for some time, and whom you can see visibly that he wanted to say yes it should be allowed (he was at a TeaParty by Glenn Beck event, remember) but in the end, he just couldn’t get over the fact that while Terrrorists shouldn’t be allowed to buy and own weapsons – not everyone on the Terrorist Watch List are necessarily terrorists.
Nice spot. Wish I’d seen it on TRMS. Maybe you can see if they’d pick you up as a DC stringer for Indy pieces, Mike.

In a crowd of Klansmen that large, you couldn’t find one who would make a racist statement? Seems….odd
