Senator Ensign may not run for re-election

with one comment

When I saw the Senator upon my return to the Capitol yesterday, I asked him about the dismal quarterly fundraising report he recently filed. One donor, $50. A truly amazing (for all the wrong reasons) showing for a United States Senator…

As soon as I mentioned it, he volunteered that the number was so low simply because he hadn’t done any kind of fundraising at all since the scandal broke. Fair enough. But that leads to another question, doesn’t it?

If you aren’t fundraising, does that mean you won’t be running again?

His reply: “I haven’t made any decisions. I won’t make any for quite a while.”

  1. Earlier today I saw Joe Scarborough on MSNBC whining and saying something to the extent, “Why are they bringing this up again? Every two months this comes up about Senator Ensign. It’s not news but repeating the same old stuff”.

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. This is the worm who stood on the floor of Congress raising hell about Pres. Clinton’s private affair while his then wife and mistress watched from the balcony. This is the same person who then moaned and groaned about Pres. Clinton for years afterwards. I guess we don’t even have to mention the dead assistant in his office & the disappearing act, ala OJ Simpson.

And we wonder why young people these days seem so irresponsible & self-serving. They’ve followed the examples that they see in our so-called leaders every day of the week.
